Marion Cotillard’s Chanel Double Act in San Sebastián

Marion Cotillard arrived at the 2026 San Sebastián International Film Festival today, where she is promoting her new film, 7h40 ce Matin là, serving up two very different Chanel looks.

There’s an ease to this Chanel look that feels very Marion. The simple top balances the drama of the cascading skirt, while the chain detail gives it a recognisable Chanel touch. This is the kind of glamour she does so well, and it feels completely natural on her.

And can we talk about the shoes? Chanel footwear can so often mean a two-tone pump, so seeing these metallic pumps was a welcome change. More of this, please.

While the Chanel Spring 2026 Haute Couture dress does feel quite mature, Marion looks beautiful in it. The transparency is very much in keeping with Matthieu Blazy’s Spring 2026 Haute Couture collection, an idea we have already seen translated to the red carpet by fellow Chanel ambassadors Margot Robbie and Nicole Kidman.

The sheer overlay transforms what would otherwise be a very simple black dress, especially from the side, where you can really appreciate the length and lightness of the fabric.

Standing still, you might wonder whether the sheer detail is too long, but once you see it in motion, it makes complete sense.

I like both, but the photocall look wins this one for me. It simply feels the most like Marion.
