Cynthia Erivo’s Fringed Dior Moment at TIFF

Cynthia Erivo attended the premiere of Prima Facie during the Toronto International Film Festival.

The one thing I have always admired about Cynthia is how she takes ownership of everything she wears, especially for someone so petite.

This Dior Resort 2027 black embroidered dress, framed with cascading white fringe detailing, is a lot of fabric to contend with. It could easily overwhelm her, but she doesn’t getting lost beneath all that fabric.

Then we have Cynthia’s signature styling. The statement jewellery and nails are never going to take a back seat, but they don’t compete with a dress that already has this much personality.

When I look at Jonathan Anderson’s Dior, there are plenty of silhouettes I don’t think would work for Cynthia – Priyanka Chopra’s Dior dress instantly springs to mind – but she always gravitates towards pieces that work with her proportions and make her appear taller than she is. This Resort 2027 look does exactly that.
