End of the Week Menswear: From Dark Leather to Academic Tailoring

Here are the final menswear looks of the week, with three very different approaches to tailoring.

American Horror Story: 13 Celebration Event

Paul Anthony Kelly wore Hermès and I love this direction for him.

During the Love Story press tour, Paul developed such a specific all-American tailored wardrobe, which made perfect sense while promoting his portrayal of John F. Kennedy Jr. But I’m glad he hasn’t allowed that aesthetic to become his default.

There’s a darker, sexier quality to this look that feels far better suited to American Horror Story: 13, while still retaining the sharp tailoring he clearly favours. The leather trousers are what really shift the conversation for me. This feels like a natural evolution of his style rather than another version of what we have already seen.

A Vacheron Constantin watch and Jacques Marie Mage shades completed his look.

Verity London Premiere

Josh Hartnett wore Jacquemus Spring 2026, including the curved Le Bastide jacket we previously saw on Hudson Williams.

I wasn’t sold on Hudson’s styling, so I was interested to see how the jacket would translate on Josh. The answer is: completely differently. This may sound strange, but on Josh it feels more grown-up and less fashion-forward.

I’m also enjoying the wider trousers on him, along with the unusual collar and buttoned tabs, which give the look its point of difference. A Cartier watch completed his look.

The Love Hypothesis LA Screening

Nicholas Duvernay wore Dsquared2, showcasing exactly why tailoring doesn’t need to mean a matching suit.

There’s something distinctly bookish about this look, which feels especially apt for a film set within the world of academia. The mix of brown and grey, striped shirt and tie leans into that aesthetic, while the Dr. Martens Adrian Tumbled nubuck tassel loafers reinforce it. It also feels perfectly timed for the first days of autumn.
