Cartier Cinema Club Draws a Stylish Crowd in Venice

Cartier brought together an impressive guest list during the Venice Film Festival for its Cinema Club celebration, mixing ambassadors and friends of the house, including Amal Clooney, Taylor Russell, Emma Corrin, Karlie Kloss, Chloé Zhao, Kate Mara and Orlando Bloom.

Amal Clooney and Karlie Kloss both dipped into the archives, with Amal continuing her love of bold colour in a red chiffon gown, which she teamed with a spectacular Cartier necklace featuring chrysoprase, coral and diamonds.

Karlie’s approach was more understated, pairing her vintage embellished dress with Cartier silver jewellery.

Taylor Russell continued her relationship with Alaïa, wearing the black version of the dress we previously saw in red on Kaia Gerber, styled with Cartier jewellery.

Emma Corrin continued their Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann run, wearing a second lace dress from the same collection following the Aman event. A diamond-studded Panthère de Cartier earring and bracelet completed the look.

Chloé Zhao opted for Kami Speer, a designer she has worn before who describes herself as a ‘Healing Couturier’, creating handcrafted garments. The red silk slip dress, detailed with lace appliqué, was very much in keeping with Chloé’s relaxed approach to event dressing, with Cartier jewellery completing her look.

Orlando Bloom continued the brown tailoring story that has served him well throughout Venice, adding a Cartier pin to his jacket. After his Zegna look earlier in the festival, I’m enjoying seeing him stick with a colour that works so well for him.

Kate Mara wore a crystal-covered Gucci high-neck column dress, and perhaps the biggest surprise is that it isn’t a mini. We know Kate for her short hemlines, but she has given us two full-length looks during Venice. The metallic finish gives the simple silhouette all the impact it needs, while her Cartier bracelet and rings work beautifully with the sparkle of the dress.
